“I grew up as an Asian American, and for the longest time after I was a child, I didn’t actually love my Asian background. I used to be form of ashamed of the background that I had,” Connie Lo, co-founder of Three Ships Beauty shares with mbg.
For years, Lo felt disconnected from her heritage and yearned for one thing she noticed on the time as “regular.” To her, this meant something completely different than the pure practices her mom had taught her. “Once I was a child, I believed that was actually irritating, as a result of I used to be like, ‘simply give me regular drugs,’ or ‘simply let me use regular shampoo,’” Lo says.
When she started fighting zits as a teen, Lo was confronted with two choices: She might take her mom’s recommendation and go for all-natural cures, or she might attempt to determine it out herself and hunt down different assets. She selected the latter.
