Professor Rogério M. Pinto was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare. The academy is an honorific society of distinguished students and practitioners devoted to reaching excellence within the discipline of social work and social welfare by high-impact work that advances social good. Fellow standing is among the many highest skilled accolades bestowed to social work students. The College of Social Work now has 13 academy members. Pinto is the Berit Ingersoll-Dayton Collegiate Professor of Social Work, a College Range Social Transformation Professor and Affiliate Dean for Analysis and Innovation in Social Work.

Pinto can be formally inducted in an internet ceremony on January 14, 7-7:45 PM MST as a part of the 2023 Society for Social Work and Analysis’s Annual Convention.
