Police are probing the scene of a Tesco petrol station after a person reportedly set himself alight on the forecourt leaving himself in a life-threatening situation in hospital. 

Emergency providers had been referred to as to the petrol station on Victoria Avenue East in Blackley, Higher Manchester, at round 7:35pm on Monday to reviews of a person on hearth.

The person was discovered on the forecourt with extreme burns and was handled on the scene by hearth crews and paramedics. He’s reportedly struggling with burns throughout 90 per cent of his physique.

The M.E.N. understands the person set himself alight. He was then taken to hospital, the place he stays in a life-threatening situation.

The incident is just not at the moment being handled as suspicious, however enquiries are ongoing.

A ‘burnt out suitcase’ might be seen on the website of the incident, in addition to two hearth extinguishers and a big empty bottle.

A spokesperson for Higher Manchester Police stated: ‘At round 7.35pm, officers had been referred to as to reviews for the priority of the welfare of a person on Victoria Avenue East, Manchester.

‘A person was taken to hospital with critical accidents, the place he stays in a life-threatening situation.’

A spokesperson for the Higher Manchester Hearth and Rescue Service added final evening: ‘At 7.30pm this night, firefighters had been referred to as to a grocery store on Victoria Avenue, Manchester. 

‘Two hearth engines from Philips Park and Whitefield hearth stations arrived rapidly on the scene. 

‘Hearth crews helped a male casualty on the scene, together with trauma care, earlier than they had been conveyed to hospital by way of our colleagues at North West Ambulance Service. GMFRS stay on the scene.’
