Katrina Ellis Named the Next James S. Jackson Emerging Scholar

Assistant Professor Katrina Ellis has obtained the James S. Jackson Rising Scholar Award from the Program for Analysis on Black People (PRBA) on the U-M’s Institute for Social Analysis. Ellis’ analysis seeks to enhance racial well being fairness, with a particular concentrate on most cancers and family-focused approaches to understanding, stopping, and managing well being circumstances amongst Black People.

The James S. Jackson Rising Students Award is designed to assist rising students who are sometimes at an particularly inventive and productive but fragile profession stage.  It’s named in honor of U-M Professor James S. Jackson, the pioneering social psychologist identified for his analysis on race and ethnicity, racism and well being and ageing amongst Black People and well being and ageing amongst Black People.
