My Quiet Life in Suffolk: Village Houses

My village is not famously fascinating like some.  It is a typical Suffolk village that has grown and grown, though it nonetheless has a church,  main college, pub, store and submit workplace, fish and chip store and a docs  so we’re very fortunate – and maybe not so typical in spite of everything!.

It has two small assembly locations – the little United Reformed Church and the even smaller Previous College Room. When sufficient cash has been raised it can have a brand new Neighborhood Corridor too and the Scouts are elevating cash for a brand new Scout Corridor after theirs was condemned.

It additionally has a number of homes, from the very previous……….(which my Nice, Nice Grandparents would have recognized after they lived within the village  within the second half of the 1800’s)

to the brand new property of 28 houses being constructed on the different finish of the village and homes have been constructed on all small items of land. The place as soon as there was a coach firm there are homes, the place the previous village corridor was within the 1980’s there are homes, the place an enormous orchard belonging to one of many villages ‘Large Homes’ as soon as was, there are very sensible homes with a personal highway to them.

The very Previous Hearth Station is a home

As is the Previous Phone Change

and the Previous Publish Workplace

Ultimately – when the housing market improves –  one other property shall be constructed on most of this discipline at my finish of the village.

A small piece of overgrown land has simply been cleared – I am guessing whoever owns it’s planning on making use of for planning permission to construct right here too

However in the midst of the village is  one thing a lot older than all the homes . It is called the Preaching Stone, a glacial erratic, supposedly used within the C15 for out of doors preaching by wandering friars and later by John Wesley.

Again Tomorrow
