Lecturer Terri Gilbert has acquired the Youth Justice Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan Middle for Youth Justice. “This work will not be achieved by one particular person alone, this award is greater than a private accolade; it’s a testomony to the collective efforts of many,” stated Gilbert. “I lengthen my heartfelt gratitude to numerous devoted colleagues, advocates and mentors who’ve been part of this journey and, most significantly, the younger folks and households whose lives we try to influence daily.”

“My guiding philosophy has all the time been to spend my life engaged on one thing that can outlast it. Reflecting on my journey, it’s exhausting to consider that I’ve spent nearly 45 years in youngster welfare and youth justice. This path has been fraught with challenges but full of moments of profound influence and hope.”
