Half 14-3

“World Honoured One, it’s not tough for me to listen to this Sutra, consider in it, perceive it, and settle for and maintain it now.”

Commentary:

We must always perceive what Subhuti meant by saying, “It isn’t tough for me to listen to this sutra, consider in it, perceive it, and settle for and maintain it.” It was not the Sutra composed of phrases however the true-Self that he meant by ‘this Sutra’. To Subhuti every thing is the Sutra, and each sound is a four-line verse. Even Subhuti himself is the Sutra, and all sounds he makes are a four-line verse. Because of this it was not tough for him to listen to and carry it.

Though Subhuti mentioned that it was not tough, there are few, if any, who can really feel the identical method as Subhuti did. The truth is, to those that can not cease dwelling on issues and phrases, it’s harder than lifting an enormous mountain, while to those that can see issues as they’re with out dwelling on them, it’s simpler than lifting a feather.

As soon as we’ve realised what the sutra is, regardless that we attempt to put the Sutra down, we will’t, and we additionally can not cease listening to and studying it even for a second, as a result of every thing, together with ourselves, is the Sutra, which is open on a regular basis. Each sound we make isn’t any apart from a dharma speak and a four-line verse.

Scholar: “Why is it so tough to listen to this Sutra, consider in it, perceive it, and settle for and maintain it?”

Grasp: “Since you attempt to hear, consider in, perceive, and settle for and maintain what isn’t the Sutra because the Sutra.”
