Professor Rogério M. Pinto mentioned his denied bid for tenure at Columbia College in 2014, and the bodily, emotional and mental toll it took, with The Chronicle of Greater Training.

“Everyone who’s concerned with you, both as an expert or somebody who’s doing analysis with you or the contributors in your analysis, the individuals who you’re keen on — everyone is affected by it a method or one other, they usually’re affected very deeply. There’s no strategy to decrease this. All the pieces that occurs after my tenure denial, each single relationship, each single connection has suffered not directly. It has a domino impact, which isn’t talked about.”

Pinto joined the U-M Faculty of Social Work in 2015 and was granted tenure the next yr. He felt impressed to talk out after studying about Lorgia García Peña’s tenure denial at Harvard College.
