The Bells! The Bells!

All of the bells of Stowmarket church are sitting right here on the ground of the church after being repaired and restored and two new bells made. The oldest bell right here dates from 1450.

They have been away from the church for 3 years and far fund elevating was wanted for all of the work on the bells in addition to strengthening the tower and bell body.

The bells have been blessed by the Bishop and shall be re-hung within the belfry very quickly. Having ten bells as a substitute of eight will enable the bell ringers to ring totally different sequences or modifications – there are a whole lot of combos or patterns all with totally different names.

I borrowed this image off their internet web page exhibiting the lorry squeezing via a really slim hole between the church and the previous buildings on the correct.

Again Tomorrow
