In Some Sort of Intimacy, the UK director Toby Bull considers the unknowable interior lives of the sheep that roam close to, and infrequently on, his mother and father’ graves. Throughout a phonecall along with his brother, he wonders: do they in a roundabout way know that their mother and father are buried beneath? May sheep ever know such a factor? Would they even must know for the scene to have some kind of which means? Comprised of sparse pictures of the panorama in Shropshire the place his mother and father are buried, Bull’s quick movie kinds an authentic and poignant meditation on loss.
