………….that Sue in Lancashire had on her weblog so began gathering fine details in a bag within the freezer. Apple peel and cores, just a few squashy plums that have been in a bag that I purchased for £1 from a boot-sale (most have been OK fortunately) and a few blackberries picked from the opposite aspect of the churchyard.
Purchased a lemon and made a drizzle cake then added the stays to the field.
Lastly after I’d peeled the tasteless Charles Ross apples I added all their peelings too and had sufficient to virtually fill my massive jam pan.

Lined with water and delivered to boil, then simmered for the remainder of the morning, I mashed all the pieces a number of occasions with a potato masher.
After I strained via a jelly bag it made almost 4 pints of fairly a watery liquid, which appeared reasonably lots so I tipped all of the juice again into the jam pan and heated and simmered for a few hours to cut back it.
Finally added the sugar and boiled to setting which made 6 jars of pretty darkish pink jelly…..I might put 5 out within the freezer room cabinet earlier than I remembered a photograph,  the jelly seems to be black, however maintain it as much as the solar and it truly is darkish pink.
Two jars will likely be used within the Christmas occurs and I feel I will make scones quickly so I can attempt the jelly on high – higher purchase clotted cream!
Undecided I’ll make it once more as a result of, though the elements have been free, it took fairly a bit of electrical for cooking and I am not an enormous jam eater anyway. If I do make it once more subsequent yr I will use much less water originally.
Again Tomorrow
Sue
