The College of Toronto is elevating funds to ascertain an award in reminiscence of thinker Waheed Hussain, who died from cancer in 2021 on the age of 48.
Hussain, who joined the Toronto school in 2014, was recognized for his work in political philosophy, ethical philosophy, economics, and enterprise ethics. His e book, Living with the Invisible Hand: Markets, Corporations, and Human Freedom, was posthumously printed earlier this 12 months.
“Waheed was particular in each means: an outstanding and beloved trainer; a profoundly authentic thinker; and an all-round great human being,” the college says.
The purpose of its fundraising, it says, “is to create an endowed award in Waheed’s honour, to assist college students on the College of Toronto Scarborough and to additional prolong Waheed’s legacy to future generations.”
