Srinavasan Wins Inaugural Nayef Al-Rodhan Transdisciplinary Philosophy Prize

Amia Srinivasan, the Chichele Professor of Social and Political Idea at All Souls Faculty, College of Oxford, has been named the winner of the inaugural Nayef Al-Rodhan Worldwide Prize in Transdisciplinary Philosophy.

The £20,000 prize was awarded to Professor Srinivasan for her 2021 e-book, The Right to Sex.

In response to the judging panel chair, Constantine Sandis, The Proper to Intercourse is “a unprecedented e-book that transcends disciplinary limitations. The writer encourages readers to suppose together with her via basic questions on gender, class, race, and energy which are of utmost significance to the understanding of human behaviours.”

Administered by the Royal Institute of Philosophy, the intention of the prize is to reward books that:

  • display rigorous unique and high-quality transdisciplinary analysis 

  • are accessible and interesting to learn

  • are unique, progressive, and impactful 

  • intend to advance and contribute to the understanding of human behaviors

The prize is called for and funded by Nayef Al-Rodhan, a thinker and neuroscientist who’s at the moment an Honorary Fellow at St. Antony’s Faculty at Oxford and head of the Geneva Centre for Safety Coverage’s Geopolitics and World Futures Programme.
