David H. Sanford, professor emeritus of philosophy at Duke College, has died.
Professor Sanford was recognized for his work in metaphysics and logic. He was the writer of If P, Then Q: Conditionals and the Foundations of Reasoning, and lots of different works, which you’ll view here.
Professor Sanford joined the college at Duke in 1970. Previous to that, he taught at Dartmouth School. He earned his PhD from Cornell College and his bachelor’s diploma from Wayne State College.
